  1. 1.  Student match-up grids (classroom logistics)

  1. To help give students opportunities to talk with different classmates, I have a number of partner match-up grids. These are useful for classrooms with static seating arrangements. Having an assigned partner at the beginning of each class, will help ensure variety. The files below are empty grids for using with classes of 9~18 students.

  1. NOTE: If there is an odd number of students, I use “free” in one of the spaces, making the person partnered with “free” free to match up with whomever they wish.

  1. 2.  Partner cards (classroom logistics)

  1. Another way to help students change partners more easily is passing out partner cards. These have a person, letter, animal, and color that, when matched, form different permutations of partner match-ups.
