This website is primarily for students and teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), especially those in Oral Communication Strategies, Communication Skills, and the Special Seminar program in the Department of English and Contemporary Society (DECS) and graduate students in the MA•TESOL at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies (NUFS).

This site is also home of Tools for Increasing Proficiency in Speaking (TIPS), a textbook based on a collection of tools and procedures for increasing students’ speaking skills. These include conversation cards, extended example conversations, recursive practice, recording conversations, and follow-up activities such as transcription, correction, summary, and self-evaluation.
